    Continuous technological advancement allows us to anticipate further changes in many areas of our society. One of them is knowing the next generation of fiber. According to the study, these new fibers are said to have a hollowed-out center that can reduce loss of power.

    Characteristics of Next-Generation Fibre

    a. Throughput - this optical fiber is very reliable in transmitting data which can reach up to 100 gigabytes first second. Fiber's throughput is amazingly due to the physics of light traveling through transparent glass. With the light-based, it can transmit signal at a faster rate and lesser error compared to electric pulses. A pure glass strand can accept billions of laser light pulses per second which makes it very suitable for network backbones and applications servers that can create a greater deal of traffic.

    b. Cost - this is the most expensive medium because most organizations find it very impractical to run fiber to every computer. The fiber optic transmitters and connectivity equipment are five times more than those which are designed for UTP networks. But in today's great demand, fiber optic cables become cheaper due to technological improvements as well.

    c.  Connectors - cabling fiber optic can be used with different types of connectors.
    There are common connector types:
    * SC (subscriber connector / standard connector)
    * ST (straight tip)
    * LC (local connector)
    * MT-RJ (mechanical transfer registered jack)
    LC and MT-RJ are the one that is being used today in optic technology. This is much preferred due to its smaller size that can connect higher density to each termination point.

    d. Noise immunity - the latest fiber optic does not conduct electric current to transmit the signal. It is very much not affected by EMI. Its noise immunity makes fiber span long distances before any repeaters are required to regenerate its signal.

    e. Size and scalability - The segment length for optic fiber may differ from 150 to 40,000 meters due to optical loss or degradation of light signal right after it travels a certain distance from its source.

    Benefits of next-generation fiber

    1.Immunity - generation fiber is immune from EMI (electromagnetic interference) which means the signal that is sent from one end is the same one that is received on the other end. Lightning and heavy industries do not affect fiber optic signals making it more conducive for means of communication.

    2.Secure communication - information that is passed through is protected from tapping making it a more secure means of communication.

    3.Cables are non-conductive - since it is made of glass and do not conduct electricity they cannot interfere with any electrical currents.

    4.Easy to install - much manpower is not required since due to its fraction of weight it can easily be installed from one location to the other.

    5.High bandwidth - there is more information to be carried out with generation fiber. It has an increased bandwidth for more efficient communication and data transfer.

    Optic fibers that are used for the telecommunications industry are made of glass, as thin as hair, transparent, and full of holes. The light beam is confined to the hollow core by the holes in the surrounding glass that is like a honeycomb that creates a strictly no-go region for light. With this, it can completely revolutionize and transform telecommunications.
