Good News from NBN Co Today
NBN as the most available broadband network all over Australia announced that suburbs and towns can now be eligible for any fiber upgrades. There will be 1.7 million homes and businesses that can upgrade from FTTN (fiber to the node) to FTTP (fiber to the premises).
This is good news for many Australian residents since by the end of 2023 up to 8 million premises over all totals can now access NBN home ultrafast with wholesale download speed of 500bmps up to 1Gbps.
Those eligible customers who can upgrade to the full fiber they need to order a plan with the participating retailer based on the eligible wholesale speed tier. This wholesale offer has three highest speed tiers which are NBN home fast, NBN home superfast and NBN home ultrafast.
*NBN Home Fast - it has a download speed of up to 100mbps
*NBN Home Superfast - its download speed can reach up to 250mbps
*NBN Home Ultrafast - it has download speed that can reach up to 1Gbps
The federal budget for the NBN fixed wireless network is about $480 million and an additional $270 million from NBN Co.'s $750 million investment in total will aim to provide faster speed to over 1 million homes and businesses all over Australia from regional to remote areas. 750,000 premises and up will be able to get speeds of up to 100mbps and 85% out of that number can have at least 250mbps. This upgrade is meant to improve speed most especially on peak demand and what they call "busy hour" around 8 at night.
NBN Co's advances in 5G technology are to deliver primarily using the existing network or fixed wireless towers. This can provide faster services on fixed wireless networks and larger amounts of data among the customers. With those customers moving into fixed wireless, it can free up capacity on the satellite network allowing satellite customers to increase their standard plan up to 55Gb to 90Gb once the upgrade is already done.

-Victoria
-Queensland
-South Australia
-Western Australia
